The tablecloth ‘SOS Dinnertime’ is based on the dark fairytale ‘The Wolf and the Seven Goats’ by The Grimm Brothers. The plate settings, woven into the fabric, feature goats’ heads, while a big wolf stalks in between. The design can be seen as an interactive conversation-piece: provide the goats from being eaten by placing the plates over their heads, hidden from the wolf. For one goat it’s already too late while another goat is hiding somewhere else on the cloth, can you locate it?

This tablecloth is a true Leendert Masselink design classic. Besides on several occasions in Amsterdam, Den Haag, Tilburg and Zürich the tablecloth was on display in a Dutch Design Show at the FIT Museum for Fashion and Technoly in New York. The Museum also purchased the tablecloth for their own collection. The tablecloth is woven in damast in grey and brown off-colors combined with a glittering silver yarn that makes the cloth sparkle when lighted. With a cloth like this dinnertime turns into partytime!
